I received a copy of The College Dropout as a gift. Side A of Disc 1 is pretty much un-listenable. It skips all over the place. A bit of internet research tells me this particular record is notorious for being poorly pressed.

The College Dropout is maybe the biggest example of a real Hip-Hop underdog story. In the early 2000's, Kanye was one of the most in-demand producers in the industry. He'd already laid classic beats for Jay and Roc-A-Fella but was struggling to get accepted as a legitimate emcee. West won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album at the 47th annual Grammy Awards, and The College Dropout is lauded as one of the greatest albums of all time. It's available now on 2LP standard black vinyl.
